I have been away for some time...the last 4 months have been a living nightmare. On September 18, 2011 I lost my best friend, my soul mate, companion & husband in the middle of the night. He passed away in his sleep. While I am comforted by the fact that he was at peace & did not suffer, the nightmare of waking up and finding him will haunt me forever. My family & I are trying to struggle through the daily tasks of moving on with "life"; whatever that may be. Everyone in my community has been a great support; but I miss him & my heart aches every second of every day. Baking, crafting & the things I used to love have taken a back seat until I can get my brain to function again without feeling like it's so scrambled.

Been sooooo busy baking, crafting, visiting with my son from the military & keeping up with the grandbabies....now school is starting in a few weeks. I can hardly believe that it's the middle of August. Last week I spent most of the week canning stuff from the garden, making jam & making home made pie filling for the holidays. The heat in the month of July here in Ohio pretty much made it miserable to do anything other than sit inside with the air on. Remember that life is short..hugs your loved ones and enjoy your time...Hope that you are all well.

Man I can hardly believe it's spring....the weather has been horrible & so has my spirits...I've not been feeling well the last few monts & I haven't been in the mood to craft lately. I have recently done a few things & have gotten my download of SCAL2 for my cricut.....IT IS AMAZING...can't believe I ever did anything without it!!!! LOL
I got my hubby to use the rototiller to go my garden a few weeks ago when it was 80 degress outside....no planting yet as it got cold again....I have posted a few pictures of some of the things I have been doing.....thanks for looking

Good Morning!!!
Welcome to winter in Ohio...we have been hit with snow, ice, cold blustery conditions...perfect for staying home and working on my Valentine candy. My family has been tasting everything that I come up with. I have made chocolate covered marshmallows, dipped oreos, chocolate dipped rum cake balls with strawberry cake, dipped spoons, and a few chocolate covered pretzels. So far, the taste testing has gone well. My next project is a new truffle recipe and some strawberry truffles. I have also been working endlessly on my personal project...a coffee lounge...for the last 6 years. I have finally gotten a private investor to listen to and believe in my ideas. I am so exhausted but extremely excited. In the concept of this coffee lounge, I am having a store front and a designated area for people to come in, sit down, relax, have some coffee and some fresh baked goodies, read the newspapers or watch tv....I will also be displaying my crafts in this area. We are hoping to be up and open by sometime in February. My husband has been completely supportive and has been helping me all the way. I am planning on making two big purchases this year....I want a heat press & an embroidery machine. I am crazy, if not determined, to do something that I enjoy for the rest of my adult life.
The grandbabies are great. I never imagined that being a grandma would be so fun...alot different than being a mom. I hope that everyone is enjoying the new year....here is a thought to leave you with....
In 2011 we will experience 4 unusual dates...1/1/11: 1/11/11: 11/1/11: 11/11/11....Now, figure this...take the last 2 digits of the year you were born and add the age you will be THIS year...it will add up to 111!!!!
Happy Days!!!!!

Well, today was an extremely precious and proud day...my new granddaughter has finally arrived. She came into the world weighing lbs 12 oz and was 18 inches long. She is very tiny but perfect in every way. Mother and baby are doing fine...so is Dad. Hopefully they will get to come home tomorrow....What an amazing day....

Happy New Year All!!!!
I hope that everyone had a blessed Holiday season. Now that the running and baking; wrapping and measuring; cooking and stirring are all over with....it's time to start all over for Valentine's Day. I have made a resolution; to post on here at least a few times a month and get more organized in my kitchen...Both tough chores for me. I started making new things this weekend so that my kids could taste them and let me know their ideas. So far the things I did are almost gone. Not sure what I will dig into today. I am awaiting the call from my son that my DIL is on her way to the hospital for my new granddaughter...they keep saying that it could be anyday. I have been sewing things for her in the meantime....
Have a great week
